Miguel Martins

Miguel Martins (1975, Lisbon) is a sound director, sound designer and re-recording mixer.

 

He worked on more than 150 films, including short and feature films, documentaries and fictions, with directors such as Miguel Gomes, Manoel de Oliveira, Fernando Lopes, Raoul Ruiz, Paul Auster, Luís Filipe Rocha, Marco Martins, João Nicolau, Salomé Lamas among others.

 

Following the success of the films, he was distinguished with several awards, for example, in 2015 by the European Film Association with the Best Sound Designer award for his work on the trilogy “Arabian Nights”, directed by Miguel Gomes.

 

In addition to cinema, he also worked as a musical director and did sound design for series, radio, advertising, and animation. During his more than 20-year career, he established working methods and post-production workflows in cinema and television.

 

In February 2020, he completed a project from scratch, under his own name, in collaboration with English engineer Joules Newel: McFly Studio – Sound Production and Films.
